*REPORT FOR May 2017*
Dear Pastor and Church,
Phil. 2.14-16 ¶ Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. We send you greetings in the sovereign name of Christ Jesus our Lord. We do pray that you all are well and rejoicing in the salvation of our Lord!
The majority of our members were faithful to all of the services during the month of May. We had two away for a short while on vacation. There were no first time visitors at Grace this month. We usually have visitors about every other month the exception being the summer months when many people are travelling on holidays.
Most of you have heard of the attacks in England by terrorists both in Manchester and in London. Our army here has been on high alert as our police are unarmed. Let us faithfully proclaim the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to all; Muslims included. For centuries God has been gracious to many Sauls of Tarsus in calling them out of darkness into His marvelous light. God is able! Let us be faithful.
Please pray for my dear wife. On Tuesday (23 May) she smashed her thumb severely. After a consultation with her GP she was sent to the Accident and Emergency at Cork University hospital. The triage nurse scheduled an appointment for her to see a plastic surgeon. She was admitted Wednesday evening to hospital and under went the procedure on Thursday morning. She lost most of the nail and also sustained a small hairline fracture to the thumb. She was discharged Thursday evening. Prognosis is that eventually the nail will grow back and the fracture will heal on its own. Her boss was kind enough to sign her out on sick leave so she would not lose her vacation time. She is currently back to work and health wise appears to be well.
Brethren, we sincerely appreciate your continued prayer for us and the Lord’s work here in Cork. May the Lord richly bless as you proclaim the unsearchable riches of Christ Jesus!
By His Sovereign Grace,
Pastor Robert Ellis
